Updates to Cerbos PDP
v0.32 of Cerbos
The v0.32 release of Cerbos is packed with new features such as transition to OpenTelemetry, enhanced policy testing, and more.
Cerbos fully transitioned from OpenCensus to OpenTelemetry, a move that significantly boosts our metrics and tracing capabilities.
The policy test framework now includes support for defining the contents of globals per test case or for the whole test suite.
When you run tests with the --verbose flag, expect to see detailed outputs including expected effects and policy results for successful cases, making your test results more comprehensive and informative.
As part of our continuous effort to optimize development workflows, we've mirrored the Cerbos image to Docker Hub.
A big thank you to everyone who tuned in for our Product Lead, Alex Olivierโs talk at Conf42: DevSecOps 2023! If you haven't watched the talk yet, you can access the recording here.

Human Managed creates future-proof ABAC engine with Cerbos
Human Managed used Cerbos to centralize different sources of user and access control information into one decoupled decision point, instead of connecting every system to their main application. As a result, their code base is cleaner and they can easily modify product packaging for their users as needed.
Why organizations are turning to decoupled authorization solutions
Decoupled authorization solutions provide out-of-the-box best security practices that allow developers to outsource specific security functions to external services or libraries so they can focus on implementing business logic. It means that they don't have to spend time and resources on maintaining their own authorization logic.
